Ok experts, help me out here...

I'm unable to tolerate garlic, cilantro, sea vegetables, sulfites, citrus, apple fiber/pectin, and many other things.

So what binders are available?

I need something to bind up the mercury when I have a mercury filling removed (later this month)...

Can you ask your dentist that is removing the fillings about this? Chlorella is much more of a binder than cilantro, which is more of a mobilizer (moves things). I get my chlorella from Iherb.com

http://www.iherb.com/Dr-Mercola-Chlorella-450-Tablets/39403

Also, activated charcoal is supposed to be good. I have not tried this yet. You can get it at local CVS and other pharmacies.

I wonder if your dentist could prescribe cholestyramine, which is a very effective binder (side effects of constipation though). I am going to be trying it soon.

Charcoal is usually derived from coconut, which is heavily sulfited.

Also, chlorella is from the ocean, which means sulfites.

I get anaphylactoid reactions to sulfites, even in tiny amounts.

Cholestyramine contains citric acid, which means sulfites.

Yes, I plan to ask the dentist, but you folks here know pretty much all there is to know about binders...

Chlorella is not from the ocean. It is a freshwater crop.

Other binders:
Zeolite
Bentoninte

Ah ok thanks. I just talked to Dr. Mercola's product customer service and they are assuring me nothing is added to their chlorella tablets that is not on the label...so I've ordered 1 bottle to try.

How much would I need to take daily, or do I just follow the label directions?

You may want to go slow to test it out as some people are sensitive to chlorella (for most others it is very gentle).

I am up to about 5 teaspoons daily and I have no adverse effects from it. Seems to digest very easy.

I have heard it is best taken 15 minutes before eating.

Do I need to avoid taking meds or other supplements with the meal that I eat 15 minutes after taking the chlorella?

Also, I have to take medicine to make my stomach work, and I usually take this 10-15 minutes before eating too.

So would I take the chlorella 15 minutes before taking this stomach medication, or take the stomach medication first, wait 10 minutes, take the chlorella, wait 15 minutes, then eat?

I think you should find what's comfortable for you.
I am not aware of chlorella interacting with any medications, but you should ask your doctor about that.

Good luck with your dental procedure, Razzle. I'm sure you have picked a "mercury-aware" dentist, right?

Take care,

I just had a bunch of fillings replaced (still have more to do). My dentist gave me some modified fruit pectin. If you can't take that, chlorella or DE. I think bentonite clay or zeolite could work as well.

Thanks. Yes, the dentist is a biological dentist, her website says she's mercury, latex & fluoride-free (good, because I'm allergic to both latex and fluoride).

She also says not to wear perfumes/etc. because her clientele may have chemical sensitivities (which I also have).

So I think I need to call and ask for her specific mercury protocol ahead of time, too.

Thanks,

Update 1/10/13: I called the dentist doing my filling replacement and she recommended chlorella also.

She also suggests I do some mild detoxing before the appointment, followed by a deeper detox routine after.

She said to work with a Naturopath on the deeper detox routine (my Primary Care doctor is a Naturopath, so I'll ask him).

Hi Razzle,

Congrats on getting the mercury out of your mouth. I had 9 large ones taken out about 3 years ago. It changed my life. My brain fog really cleared up and energy improved greatly. It was expensive but my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

I started detoxing 2 weeks before and it was really bizarre. I had electric current feelings going from the bottom of my neck to the middle of my scull every time I moved my head for about a week. had a 2 day migraine headache. It felt a lot like a flare up but when it cleared up, Wow!!!!

I I used cilantro and chlorella to detox and I also went on a raw food diet for a month. I'm sorry the cilantro doesn't work for you. There is a website chlorellaman.com. He detoxed himself and has many suggestions. You can see his progression on multiple You Tube posts.

Be well
Heather

I will probably eventually get all of my mercury fillings removed by a good biological dentist. It is good to hear that having them removed gave you good results. Some have posted that it did not make a difference for them. It is a lot to go through for no results!

I already have these strange currents that go across my head, especially when I am on the phone - land or cell. I also have gritty sounds when I move my head in any direction. It would be heavenly to get rid of all the toxins in there!

I love chlorella and cilantro. I decided to take a break from them a few weeks ago and quickly returned. My LLNP says that together, they are a gentle, safe way of chelating heavy metals as long as you take enough chlorella to go along with the cilantro.

For chelating heavy metals, I take 1 gram of chlorella 1/2 hour before meals and at bedtime. I take 10 drops of cilantro in hot water (like a tea) in the morning between chlorella and breakfast and also at bedtime when I take my last gram of chlorella.

I tried to look up chlorellaman.com and it looks like it is no longer available. Too bad.

Chlorellaman posted numerous Vlogs under "detoxmetal" He was super poisoned and you can see videos of him really sick and as he got well. Pretty amazing. He has suggestions there also. He is big on cilantro and chlorella but talks about others as well.

Those videos gave me a lot of encouragement
