I finally found relief using Ben Gay/self massage, and Baclofen,an MS drug that cuts connection between nerves and muscles. I have 3 back fractures, and spinal stenosis/myelopathy in my neck.
Most of all, over a year's time, I have avoided surgery and, often, meds, because I have been taking Tai Chi classes, which have done amazing things for my spine. I practice alignment and lengthening my spine upward, when I drive or work at a desk, as well as relaxation of my shoulders, all of which are an extension of Tai Chi into my life.

I have recurring neck/shoulder/back issues due to stress. I've gone to a chiropractor when it's extremely bad who helps release pinched nerves and discs.
As soon as I feel things get tight in my shoulders I take ibuprofen to decrease the inflammation and do neck/shoulder muscle stretches. Then I put heat on, then stretch again. This is what my pt told me to do and as easy as it sounds it has helped quite a lot on a daily basis.
I got a "wellness wrap" at Rite Aid that can be heated in the microwave. It stays warm for 30 minutes at a time so you can use it in the car, office, home, etc.

Wow, Family, the wellness wrap sounds like a great idea!
I don't know if this will help your neck but, I saw Dr. Weil do some palm reflexology on the Dr. Oz show recently. I tried it at the dentist. It works! It only takes a few seconds too (if I just focus on area between thumb and finger).
The first link below shows the doc who taught Dr. Weil how to do it (she was great, Dr. Low Dog). I also do this when I need to calm my racing mind when I go to bed (it works).
I am on Adrenal herbs and they r helping big time with pain, keeping me calmer and more.
These herbs are a blessing for me. I was losing it emotionally and physically. My LLMD put me on them
I am so surprized that so many symptoms that we think r Lyme and co r Adrenals.

HI Janice Well wishes
I use turmeric for inflammation. It really helps and isn't hard on the kidneys. I take a capsule in the morning and one at night every day. I also avoid night shade vegetables as they cause inflammation for me. At night I take valerian root. It is a mild muscle relaxer and promotes sleep. I feel much more rested and have less pain.

Thanks, I'll try those. I have ever tred valerian. I like the Ida that it's muscle relaxer.

Healing..what adrenal herbs do you take?
Posted by pug7 (Member # 36995) on :
Be careful with adrenal herbs. Other posters have also warned that you might want to start by puncturing a capsule and taking 2 or 3 drops, rather than the whole capsule. I have had bad reactions to adrenal support herbs and supplements, that last for a whole day.
Chiropractic can help a lot, but sometimes, if the problem is inflammation, I find that things return to where they were within an hour of treatment.
