Hi, everyone - [hi]
I was just wondering what detox methods work best for you all.
I've just started IV Rocephin and am trying to increase the things I do to detox. My spring semester starts in 9 days so this would be a really bad time to have a severe herx.
What detox method provides you the fastest/longest-lasting relief?

For me it is alpha lipoic acid, I use AlaMax CR which is timed release, 600 mg twice a day and milk thistle 600 mg twice a day.

If I miss those two, my liver enzymes go up. I am on IV Clindamycin.

Glutathine 6 to 8 tablets at once with alkaseltzer gold in lemon lime water during a herx, lots and lots of lemon lime water, I just drink it all day. I also like burbur and parsley drops during a flare. For maintenance I take glutathione, NAC, alamax, sydetox and ITIRES drops, good luck

Children's liquid Allegra or Claritin is surprisingly helpful.

Thanks, everyone!
I have heard of glutathione before in conjunction with IV abx; is it supposed to be especially potent?

These are some dietary/herbal things that really help me detox when I'm herxing:

Turnip Greens (or other greens)
Milk Thistle
Dandelion Root
Lemon juice
Epson Salt soaks
Dark colored berries- blueberries, raspberries, bing cherries
Beets
Garlic
Tumeric

I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks, daynise! I love garlic and turmeric all ready; I'll just take this as an excuse to use them more often. =)

Excuse me, typo. I would get IV glut :-)

Oh, Tammy - the E word. [Eek!]
Is that something you can do by yourself, or does someone else need to help you with it? I've been thinking lately about how badly I would need to feel before I'd try one. It would be worth it if it were the only thing that could keep me in school and working.

BBinme - do you need a prescription for IV glutathione?

Expensive but Allergy research Acetyl-Glutathione pill for works for me. Cheapest at pure formulas . And they give coupons which makes it much cheaper. Sometimes 20% Good service. I always call to order.

1 lemon (whole), with a Tsb baking soda/water chaser. May not be the healthiest thing for teeth, but it's a herx killer for me. Makes you burp and fixes bloating within minutes.
