Can someone recommend a good probiotic that does not cost too much? I remember being told by someone once unless the probiotic is the type that s stored in the refrigerator otherwise it is dead already.

i think that is true-once you open it it needs to be in fridge
i have learned the better products are cheaper in the long run-they are absorbed, they dont pollute you with extra garbage and you can take less
i dont think you can beat theralac
normally it is so good you dont even take it everyday-depending on your yeast situation and abx amount you might need more for awhile
i need to buy more and will probably get a case from the factory-its cheaper that way...i usually share with others

Read the info on it. Some are guaranteed to stay good longer. Theralac is like that too. It can be delivered unrefrigerated. You just refrigerate when you receive it.
Custom is also dairy free. Probiotics are one thing you CANNOT skimp on!!!

I use PB-8, which can be found at Vitacost.com. Has worked for me for 4+ years. I mix it up with other types and brands, too.

PB8 is the reason I am still having yeast issues today. It is crap.
I'm glad you are "mixing it up" with others!!
Take a minimum of 100 billion CFU's per day.

What about Kefir?

Theralac can be around $30 a bottle if you can buy 12 bottles at a time. Some share an order to get the better price. Just an idea as it is a lot of money to buy 12 bottles at a time.
I wish cheaper worked for me. I use VSL#3 packets and try to add two different other ones to the mix.

I also would not skimp in this area. If your insurance will cover some of the cost of VSL#3, I highly recommend it. I pay $37 for 20, so that is about $50 per month.

I hope it's a good one!

I recently came across iFlora by Sedona Labs. It has 16 different strains, 32 bill. active cells per serving. The price is ok too. They have it in capsules and powder; I prefer the caps. K

Hoops is right...check with your insurance company. I was receiving 2 packets a day of the VSL#3. A 90 day supply cost me $50. Dirt cheap!!!
BUT... I got sick from it and found out that I need to be dairy free. I also can't use Theralac anymore. That is why I buy Custom Probiotics.
I also make my own kombucha and I LOVE IT!!! It really has elmiminated my sugar cravings.

Ellen .. I couldn't find a CFU count on the Primal. (??) I tried it once many years ago. Wasn't really impressed with it.

I am new to Lyme treatment. My doctor has told me to take 25 to 50 billion two times per day. He has recommended Probiotic Eleven by Nature Sunshine. Can someone tell me how many tablets would equal 25 billion?
