As some of you might be aware, my chief complaint is neck pain and issues and weird sensations on my tongue and in my throat. Numb sensations at times other times like a spot of nervous electrical sensation in back of my throat.
Ok. I know I have lyme and co. My test results show that. But I am wondering if these symptoms could be caused by something else other than the lyme.
One of the things my brain MRI says is that I my cerebellar tonsils are borderline low. I looked that up and that is associated with chiari.
I am curious, since so many here have had brain mri's, has anyone else been told you have low lying cerebellar tonsils?

I did too, but not low enough to be Chiari. I had a couple sub-specialists look at my MRIs and they all thought that wasn't the issue. I know it can cause some major issues for people though.

Might want to consult a Chiari expert (most Neuro's don't have a clue) and find out if they are low enough to cause those symptoms...

I am a little confused, because my brain mri says "cerebellar tonsils are borderline low" and my c-spine mri says "cerebellar tonsils are in normal position above the foramen magnum". Both mri's were done at the same office one month apart.
Thankfully, I don't get headaches very often and headaches are one of the main symptoms of chiari.
I am just grasping at straws here because I really can't tell if it's lyme and co, neck injuries and frequent coming out of alignment, or possible chiari. Oh and let's not forget the pineal cyst and arachnoid cyst in pituatary fossa that my brain mri says I have also.
All I know is that all of this started one year ago when I hit the side of my head getting into the car. No major biggie.
Sorry guys, I am just tired of not feeling well and a little down and anxious today. Thank you for letting me vent. God bless!
