I haven't been on here in a couple years. I've had the derealization chronically since 2007 and have treated for Bartonella (even though my Labcorp test was negative) with Levaquin for 2 months and Cipro for 2 months. Not much success there.

I'd like to know the answer to that too Stephen.
I think it is more lyme because all I have fought over the years is Bart and Babs. Thought the lyme was done.
And now we have this. So I think it's either lyme or in my 18 year old daughter case, PANDAS.
She also has headaches and depression.
Well Wishes-Hope we can find the answers.

I don't think you can attribute to any one infection, it's a combo. ANything that affects the vascular system as all these pathogens do can cause it.

I have had bartonella since 2004, and have done years of treatment, and it has not helped with this symptom. I think it may be more babesia-related for me but I just don't know.

Thank you, this is a little helpful. It seems like the cause of this is different for everyone and nobody really knows what to do :/

You have to treat all the infections. Babesia can make you feel very out of it and disconnected. So can protomyszoa. Brain fog, fatigue and fever can be attributed to both of these infections.
If you have babesia duncani you won't have drenching sweats but you probably will have headaches, hot flashes, extreme fatigue, air hunger and feeling you need to sleep. You can have pain in the large muscles such as buttocks and thighs. I got bad cramps in my thighs and back.
If it is protomyxzoa that is dominate, you will have insomnia and pain in the bone and joints with shooting nerve pains. The fatigue, brain fog, depression, headaches and air hunger is similar to babs.
To clarify if it is really bart you are dealing with look for other typical symptoms such as extreme irriatation with outbursts of rage, body swelling that looks like edema but does not leave a dent when pressed, crusty moles, pea size brown spots on the skin, streaks etc.
People tend to get stuck treating one infection, wondering why they are not getting better. The infection has gone dormant and something else has taken over. It is a war. You have to fight it on all the fronts.
