I'm just curious if anyone has ever had a Ganglion cyst DEEP INSIDE a joint?
I know Ganglion cysts usually occur on the OUTSIDE of a joint...
I was having a lot of pain in my elbow - everything looks ok on the outside......no bumps, or anything.
It has been very painful and stiff for a while.
My Dr. ordered an MRI of elbow, then sent me to an
orthopedic surgeon.
He showed me the MRI, and said I have what appears to be a Ganglion cyst deep inside my elbow joint.
It is very close to all the nerves in my elbow.
He wants me to go to a specialist in Philadelphia to have surgery.
Just curious if anyone else had/has this, and if it is a "lyme" thing or not.
What I found weird/interesting is - the cyst looks like a "corkscrew" in the middle of it. Probably about 3/4" long
It reminded me of the microscopic pics I have seen of spirochetes - only much larger.

My son developed a more typical ganglion cyst on
his wrist. It is not painful and so we are going
to leave it alone for now since any medical
procedure runs the risk of ramping up Lyme and
Co's.
I do wonder if we are more susceptible to these
due to the infections and inflammation?

i had one. it was on the outside of the wrist. occasionally would get sore. left it alone and eventually it just disappeared. don't know why.
