Hi,

Well, I'm putting on muscle mass for no particular reason. I thought it was a sign that I'm getting better, but now I'm wondering: could this be as a result of my hormones being affected by Lyme?

Best,

Are you a man or woman? I'm a guy and mine dipped and then shot way high for no reason. Had to take blockers.

I'm female. Blockers = testosterone blockers? What exactly did your doctor say to you? Was it an LLMD?

Best,

I can relate. I am a young woman and have a six pack of abs when I don't work out. I don't know where it came from, but I have had it since I've been sick. Hey, I'm not going to complain on this one...

Well, I'm seeing my LLMD tomorrow -- I'll let you know if he has any theories...

Lyme lowers testosterone in men by raising estrogen levels. Also does the exact opposite in women.

Does that mean the blockers you're taking are estrogen blockers?

I was. The blockers work. Ask your Dr.

Good Luck

I think I've seen this in the literature--probably from Bransfield--about lyme inducing hypersexuality, increased hormone levels. However this state can be followed by a crash that tends to feature adrenal fatigue in the mix.

So don't overdo anything unless you're sure lyme is clear.

Just watch certain E blockers if you're a hypercoagulator because they can heighten risk of blood clots.

wow, I sure as heck didn't get that side effect! I have a total jelly belly. That side effect doesn't sound so bad!

I can relate to the jelly belly. My 3 year old grandson wanted my attention and was pushing on my stomach.

All of a sudden he stopped and said. "Grandma, why is your stomach so squeezy?".

I thought I was going to lay an egg. LOL!!!!!

I told him my 55 year old stomach had been through a lot and it just wasn't the same anymore.
