HI everyone..I am getting excruciating leg pains and they are driving me insane. It feels like someone is stabbing me and after the stabbing pains ease it feels like the worst post workout ache ever.

What causes this? I am in so much pain..it is almost unbearable. Any thoughts as to how to ease this WITHOUT painkillers? Thanks so much. Jess

Try rubbing a little peppermint oil on your legs. It won't solve the problem, but it will help [Smile]

Belladonna 30ch (homeopathic remedy), also helps me. FWIW

Homeopathic: you can also try Arnica and Hypericum Perforatum -- but the best thing is to find an excellent naturopath -- not an easy task, but well-worth it!

Thank you again so much...I am lying on the floor right now sobbing quietly and trying not to wake my sleeping fiance up. This is just horrible. I so appreciate the tips. Jess

One of these days, those a$$h0les who are putting profits before people are going to be forced to give in. Sooner rather than later, hopefully.

Jess. I really like magnesium optimizer by jarrow formulas. It has mag, potassium and tourine in it. When I was really bad, I would pop two before bed. Leg pains are often potassium. Can you stomach a banana or peanut butter. For that bruised post workout feel... I like topricin rubbed into the area (a homeopathic cream) If it is more neuropathy I like Neurogen cream (smells strong like lavaneder and other essential oils). But seems to really work. Also, CVS makes a an epson salt lotion that I like when I don't have time for a bath. I actually layer it with the topricin.

Feel better.

Oh...and lying with your feetup can help too. When mine were real bad I would lie on the floor with my feet up a wall or on a chair at the knees.

Hey there

I am so srry you are suffering. You may want to try 5000 ius a day of vitamin d which is the only thing that helped my throbbing legs.

Jess-maybe part of a great big herx? My leg pain actually woke me up from my sleep the other night-excruciating is right- just stayed off my legs, elevated them, etc. I can relate relate - we must be twins! [Frown] feel better!

Homeopathic Causticum may also help.

And perhaps try a heating pad or hot water bottle on your lower back, and keep the legs warm too.

Another thought is to make sure you aren't dehydrated...dehydration can cause severe muscle spasms and pain.

This may also be a herx. Epsom salt bath soaks can help. Just don't make the water too hot - keep it comfortably warm only.

I have had similarly nasty leg pains most of my life, and heat and regular exercise are about the only things that consistently help for me.
