Ok, so this is sort-of complicated. I had an amalgam filling come loose around Christmas 2012, and it took me a month to get in to see a Biological dentist.

She said the tooth needed a root canal or to be extracted, neither of which she did. So I called around and found someone else who would extract the tooth.

By then, it was early Feb. The extraction went fine and I seemed to be healing ok.

But 1 week after the extraction, I developed an infection (swollen painful cheek, pain increasing at tooth extraction site) that was blown off by a different dentist (didn't like the dentist who pulled the tooth).

Finally got in to see another Biological dentist this past Wednesday, and he gave me Amoxacillin. First dose sent me spinning with severe nausea, exhaustion and diarrhea.

Saw my Primary Care doc the next day (had already had a scheduled follow-up, luckily), and he said he thought these were side-effects or possibly an allergic response to the Amox., so he switched me to Cipro. This was Thursday of this past week.

My stomach has always been happy with Cipro, so I gladly switched and the dental infection seems to be going down.

But I'm still dealing with mild diarrhea (more urgency than anything else), and this morning was awoken by a nausea "attack":

Severe nausea
Extremely excessive salivation
Exhaustion, felt like I weighed 100000 tons...
Movement of any muscle in my body = even more severe nausea/exhaustion (even blinking or turning my head)

Felt somewhat like low blood sugar, but way, way more intense.

So I was able to go back to sleep briefly, and felt somewhat better when I got up.

But I've since eaten a meal and taken my pills, and I still feel somewhat like this - the nausea, exhaustion, and diarrhea are still present.

Is this die-off that is still lingering from the 2 doses of Amox. I took (Wed/Thu), or could this be Bartonella die off from the Cipro now (been on the Cipro since Thu), or ???

Oh, should also mention I'm also on Flagyl and Andrographis for Lyme. But I've been on these for well over 1 year...

Just trying to figure out what's going on with me...I feel so lousy! [Frown]

I don't know about where you live, but we have several gi bugs going around. It could be that.

Hope you feel better soon,
Karen
