I'm being treated for babs with an "experimental" regimen of Coartem. I'm herxing terribly. (night sweats, pain, swelling) But I've also had new symptoms that are worsening, namely joint swelling and a feeling of coming down with the flu every evening.

The flu-like feeling starts with severe chills, and develops into a full-blown sick feeling which has me in bed and not-functioing by 5pm each night. Then in the morning that feeling is gone. It's been happening every night for a week.

My joint swelling started with just one knee and finger many months ago, but recently has spread into multiple finger/hand joints, foot joints, and both knees.

Is this a babs/lyme herx? Or could these be new symptoms of another TBI?

It doesn't sound like bartonella. Bb causes joint swelling and it can move from place to place. Babesia I have heard is more bilateral, affecting both sides of the body. My pain with babesia was more cramping but I had some muscle flu like pain too.

There is also protomyxzoa rheumatic which causes arthritic pain and muscle pain. It made one thumb and one finger hurt like I was getting arthritis. I had stabbing pains in a knee and above one ankle.

Babesia and protomyxzoa can cause hot flashes and sweating. One way to differentiate between babesia and PR is PR gives you insomnia while Babs makes you sleep more.

Except for possibly the joint swelling, these sound like Babs symptoms to me. It sounds like they have gotten worse since you started the Coartem. Since Coartem treats Babs, I think you could be herxing.

When I treat Babs, I seem to herx more often than than with the other diseases (this was especially true early in treatment).

nefferdun-do you know the typical treatment for protomyxzoa? Or if there is anything natural to kill it? I think this could be a possibility for me but can't afford a fry test

Jamers

I have heard that some LLNDs and LLMDs are using two of the Byron White Formulas A-FNG & A-P to treat this protozoa.

I am curious, too-- and wondering if either MMS or Salt/C will eradicate it.

I know it's been said that MMS does not have the ability to kill all parasites, so I am leaning more on the side of the salt/C protocol.

Wondering if anyone on here has been dx'ed with protmyxzoa and gone the Salt/C route.

I'm taking the A-BAB from Byron White along with a few others since I have the sweats and the stabbing pain. 2 ticks last year. Afraid to go into the woods now : )
