Can anyone point me to one or more videos (maybe on youtube) that may help with the awful neck pain that goes up my head and across my shoulders and upper back?

I already work out at a gym and use machines with weights.

This sounds like you are having muscle spasms.
The quickest thing I've found to help this is pulsed electromagnetic therapy, using the SOTA Magnetic Pulser.

Emphasizing Carol's note about magnesium, especially with:

a continual need for it -- yes, 3 x a day. Even twice may not be enough. It needs to be administered in managable doses throughout the day.

You may also need more. Up to 1,000 to 2,000 mg daily total (just never all at once).

TAURINE, too, may be of help especially if you don't get enough in your eggs, fish and meat.

Be very careful. SOME kinds of Chiropractic adjustments can make lyme much worse - some kind are safe but certainly not by all D.C.s or D.O.s. Most are not safe for us.

NEVER get your neck or spine suddently twisted or manipulated. This action, even if very quick, can set someone with lyme back for months.

UPLEDGER is one gentle method that is safe for those with lyme. Just Google to find their site and the practitioner link for your zip code.

Many who are certified in this method are covered by some insurances.

Not usually covered by insurance, but also excellent (though different), FELDENKRAIS is also a safe technique.

Hi,

Try going to Kripalu Yoga Center and click on the free home yoga videos. They have several from gentle yoga, restorative yoga and classes that are more vigorous. I have been to Kripalu in person several times and it it awesome.

I have alot of occupational spine injuries such as spinal stenosis, herniated discs, etc and I credit yoga from keeping me for the most part pain free and keeping me as flexible and mobile as possible.

I have tried going to a chiropractor in the past and I actually felt worse, so I stopped going. Plus my insurance pays for nothing.

I do take magnesium and krill oil. I can increase the Mg+ though.

I'll check out all of those videos.

Carol, how much does a SOTA Magnetic Pulser cost?...and where did you get one?

The pain is a constant tight ache with soreness when I try to stretch. It is slightly better when reclining or lying down.

It feels like my spinal cord is stretched too tight. I have very tender spots at the base of my skull. My trapezius muscles are very sore, achey and tender.

This does not come and go..it's constant. It gets worse when sitting at the computer or being immobile such as in the car for awhile.

The pain causes a constant headache up the back of my head and around to my temples.

It may help a little to stretch a lot.
