This is a big topic. You do not mention whether the children are or will be in treatment?
Only 1 of my children has been through health issues and treatment- she started that path young, so taking
'vitamins' and supps, medications, was part of the 'deal' But, she suffered from OCD, so what I told her was very selective-
I think it depends with your younger children- you do not want to freak them out- my younger ones, I never came out too
harshly how sick I was- what they did know was during treatment, I was tired a lot and needed to rest.
Hang in there- I really do believe people can get well, and certainly improve their lives.

thanks surprise- they all will be treated. they all have medical problems already. my oldest seems almost relieved at the fact.
i will keep it simple i think with my younger children.
i do not want them to be scared.
the thing i dread the most is getting them to take all the medicine.
im sure with time it will be better. thanks for your input.

My son too was relieved to finally have an answer to all his health problems.
Now he spends time looking back and understanding better all the strange things that happened to him in the 7 years he went undiagnosed.
As for taking the medicine. I know my son is older, but I bought little shot glasses in multi colours/designs to make it a little interesting.
We also talk about the idea that the bacteria can trick him into resisting treatment because it wants to stay strong. Not sure how you would introduce that to a young child, but when he really resists he is able to overcome the feelings by thinking that they are not really his feelings but the bacterias defence.
All the best to you and your family. I agree with Surprise people can and do get well!
