Has anyone heard of people having low liver enzymes with Lyme and co? I did a search and saw a lot of results for high liver enzymes but nothing for low.
I also have lots of food allergies, really high levels of lead and mercury, and watery swelling around the abdomen, that I always wondered if it was a build up of toxins not adequately leaving my body. Now I wonder if low liver enzymes supports this idea.
Any insights?

I had always thought that low liver enzymes was a good thing since the bottom of the normal range on my tests is 0.

I've heard similar.
Part of the reason I was asking about it, is because I have also had a problem with digestion. Lots of undigested food in my stools. Also low levels of lots of nutrients.
I know enzymes are an important part of digesting food, and thus getting nutrients, and was thinking perhaps my low liver enzymes were actually contributing to these digestion issues, and low nutrients. And therefor was hinting that my liver isn't functioning as it should.
I also have read that high metal levels, especially mercury can affect your liver enzymes ability to function, and it affects specific enzymes. Thus affecting your ability to break down specific components of food affectively, resulting in food allergies.
My mercury level were 5x the normal limit, they are now down to 3x the normal limit after push ivs of dmps, I am now taking dmsa to lower it further.
I'm allergic to wheat, dairy, and eggs, and avoid them all.

On WebMD it says that both high and low levels of
liver enzymes can indicate liver damage. I have had
slightly low liver enzymes and my doctor has said
it is nothing to worry about.
