I found an article through LymeNet that listed aspirin as treatment for Colorado Tick Fever, but this seems contraindicated. Anyone have any thoughts or maybe could explain further? Thanks!

- Aspirin will NOT treat infection. Not at all.
It can help lower fever but will do zero - absolutely zero - to address the infection.
And, it may be that the fever should not be lowered. Especially at onset of infection, if not too high, fever may be an important benefit to help the immune system fight.
In children - and even in adults - administering aspirin during infection can lead to the very serious REYE'S SYNDROME. Just a start to research regarding that concern:
It states "other" for the aspirin. It just seemed odd to me. Even to use to treat a symptom that seems odd. From what I've read about it, bleeding can be an issue therefore adding aspirin seemed like not such a good idea.
