My dr want me to start mepron, zith, crypto plus and artemesia.

He want me to take 2 capsules of art three times a day! No pulsing. 500 mg in each capsule. I've read that this is a lot and it sure sounds like it!

The idea is for a certain dose but, usually, never to start. Usually, it's always starting very low and working up - if a chronic case.

The dose there does not sound like a lot at all, really.

And, there is a huge difference between artemesia and artemisinin. If artemesia, this is not high at all, in comparison. Even for the stronger artemisinin, for a dose you would work up to, this also sounds well within reason.

Lower and it may not work.

To be clear about the differences: artemisinin is usually far more effective than just artemesia - although both can be more helpful than either alone as it's good to get both the raw form of the herb (artemesia) and the "extract" (artemisinin).

If acute and just bitten, of course, that would be different so as to clobber it from the start.

With any form but especially the extract form, though, LIVER SUPPORT is vital as art. uses the Cytochrome P-450 liver detox pathway and that is often already really stressed with lyme.

Be sure to also have enough complex carbohydrates at a steady level. Fasting can cause liver trouble when the C P-450 pathway is stressed. Carbs are vital to help prevent toxic levels of porphyrins, or a porphyria attack. Of course, healthy carbs. And also along with liver support each day.

Detail here (in the Porphyria thread) about how to support Rx or supplements that can push the C P-450 pathway:

LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.

Well, you do know that I'm not an authority of anykind whatsoever. Just sharing the little bit I've learned on this garden path.

Still, more detail from others can help yet - a mind at ease sure trumps it all.

From what I've learned, you have to pulse art because your body will become resistant, something abt enzymes.
