I am wondering if anyone can tell me how to stay well and strong on all these antibiotics, etc. I think my immune system is shot.
Also I can't keep the weight on. All the magnesium I take causes loose stool (3x) every morning. I take Mag Tab SR 7 84 mg tabs per day.
Any weight gaining tips. 97lbs is way too low for me. I use to 108-110.
Thank you all for your help! Robin

I always thought that Mag should be taken "to bowel tolerance" I took that to mean that if you get loose stools that is too much.
I had luck with my son and weight gain with high protein diet, including whey powder and lots of meaty soups. He ends each day with a power shake that has protein powder, blueberries, omega oil(lemon flavoured) and a little fruit juice, and stevia drops to make it sweet.

Are you spacing out the magnesium, not taking it all at once? It is said to go in and out pretty fast, which is why you need to keep taking it. I only took the SR type once at night, to keep it up during sleep. Took other kinds about three times during the day because they were less expensive than SR. Like magnesium malate, but there are other good types too.
Not sure this is related to the weight loss though.

Agree with canadianmama and poppy on this.
Are you eating healthy fats?

Burrascano says a 1 hour weight lifting program no more often than every other day will boost your immune system. He says you can't get well unless you do this type of exercise. Read it on page 31 of his Guidelines.
It must be weight lifting. Aerobic exercise depresses the immune system for a much longer time, so it is not allowed.
I have proven to myself twice now that Burrascano is correct about this exercise. It must be light weights, numerous repetitions, a full body workout. You may have to work up to the 1 hour. Go to bed after the workout.
Every Burrascano type doctor I know says that you won't get well unless you do this. Read the explanation of why it works on page 31.
I lost alot of weight when I was on abx. Between having no appetite and all the food restrictions the pounds just came off.
I became nervous when my weight went below what I weighed when I was in my 20's and I am in my 50's.
I think this really had more to do with yeast than anything.
My first two LLMD's did not have me on the appropriate levels of probiotics, so by the time I got to my 3rd and current LLMD, I think yeast was a bigger player than Lyme and co's.
When I got yeast under, control, my weight started to climb.
And once I started taking herbs, my body bounced back.
It really is amazing what the body can withstand.
Try almond butter. That's a good fat on apples, or rice crackers. Avocados are good. Turkey, some cheeses. Put olive oil on veggies.

I also agree about the Magnesium. My LLMD told me to take it to tolerance. If you are having that many bowel movements, back off a little.

Thank you all. I'm going to back off the magnesium. I was over doing it because I thought it would help with the muscle twitches. It did not!! I'm also going to try magnesium taurate and only do the mag tab at night.
I wish I could eat more carbs but they make my heart race. All the sugar I guess. I'm going to try protein bars and shakes.
Thanks

I lost a lot of weight and went below 100 myself. It ended up being due to parasites. I had no idea I had them. I've now been treating for over 10 months continuously and I'm still passing them every day.
I've just recently put on a few pounds. I am so happy. And I think this is a good sign that my infection is finally getting lowered.

I wonder if thats part of my problem. That's interesting because I'm starting Alinia. Maybe that will help me withvthe diareah too. Not to be strange, but how do you know you pass them?
