How important is it to treat lyme and co-infections even if the tests show the bacteria are dormant in your body?
A friend who is CDC positive for lyme has decided not to start treatment. Apparently, she does not have that many symptoms that are causing her problems, she is still able to work full time, exercise, etc.
Is it even possible to be CDC positive and have the lyme be dormant?
I want to offer her advise but cannot find info on whether it is necessary to treat tick borne diseases when they are dormant.
Thanks for your help.

Why did she get tested then?? I would treat according to symptoms. If she has bothersome symptoms, then treat. In my mind... if she has symptoms then it is not dormant.
