I have a derm appt. Monday for a raised rash on my face and acne worse too.

I will also have the fingernail fungus cultured to make sure it's a fungal infection because I took Lamisil 6 weeks and all kinds of home remedies for months that have not worked.

I think derm will want to prescribe a steroid for face. What are my other options?

I haven't found dermatologists to know anything about lyme derm problems, so don't expect the doc to recognize if that is the cause.

Demodex mites live in the pores in your face and eat sebum, or facial oil.
People with autoimmune problems get Rosacea, related to this.

When the immune system is okay, the mites don't seem to cause problems.

You can use LED light therapy to reduce the skin inflammation and help it to heal.
The SOTA LightWorks uses LED's (light emitting diodes) with wavelengths of 660 and 880.

There are other brands too, and although they are not as strong as the professional models, they still work wonders.

You can buy soap with Seabuckthorn.
You can also buy the oil and apply it to affected areas.

Look up Face Doctor at iHerb.com and at Amazon.com for products and reviews.

RZR, if it is toenail fungus, I've had good results with teatree oil, although it takes forever to see results. Use this other times to keep the fungus at bay. I use it full strength. Don't bother with creams that have teatree oil in them-- I don't think it is enough to make a difference. I don't think it is a good idea to put on the face, just a funky toenail.

It is my fingernails...four of them. One day I think they are looking better and next not so sure. I haven't tried tea tree oil, but used oil of oregano forever.

Guess I started freaking out when my face started getting a raised rash. It doesn't itch, just kind of burns.

I am seriously thinking of cancelling my appt...just no more money to waste.
