Both LLMDs I saw spoke of Alinia on the list of drugs that are effective vs cyst form.

Seems like the side effects are almost nothing in comparison to Tindamax / Flagyl.

Has Alinia not shown to be as effective?

I felt great on Alinia! I took it as part of a rotation of parasite meds.

That was about a month ago and sx are returning so I will go back on. But it did get me feeling better then I have felt in years. I did not notice any bad side effects from it. Flagyl was a different story...

Agreed I took Alinia for parasites (which i didnt actually have i dont think) and I felt totally fine. Didn't help me back then but I saw no adverse reactions.

Wondering if Alinia is effective specifically on cyst form of Lyme though. Both LLMDs mentioned it but everyone still uses Tindamax / Flagyl as #1 choice evn though every patient seems to hate it and has more severe side effects

anybody else on this?
I don't see any research nor any main PDFs on lyme speaking of alinia but many LLMDs speak of it.

where did it come from as a cyst buster?

I will be starting Alinia next week primarily for Babs or babs-like parasites. This is the first I hear using alinia as a cyst buster.

I'm currently on mino, bactrim DS and pulsing TindaMax. I'm just finishing a real long course of IV Rocephins and double dose Mepron/Zith. Herbs include cryptolepis, sida acuta, alchornea cordifolia, GSE, cats claw, ASV, garlic and cloves.

I will also reduce the Tindamax pulse from two day per week to two days every other week to challenge a herx and gauge remaining lyme cyst load.

Alinia is supposedly flagyl plus a 2nd ingredient.

That said hubby never had much reaction to that med compared to tindamax or flagyl.

Don't really know about the cyst buster angle -- but if using for babs or blood borne parasites -- in my opinion the meds are effective from least to most in the following order -- alinia least, then tindamax and flagyl most.

Personally hubby never pulsed any of these meds except for flagyl (especially IV) -- but he took them all 3 continuously for months in combos with other meds at various points in time.

I don't hate flagyl...I love it. I feel better on than off it...

Yes, I had to work my way up to my current dose very slowly, but missing a few days brought the return of many symptoms and I am just happy to be back on it...
