Please bare with me...i'm at rock bottom. I'll try and keep it brief...right now, horrible G.I. pain, always followed by a sort of physiologic anxiety; my body is so restless and sleep is near impossible...life right now is near impossible... cipro/metro used to work; they're not bowl have an llmd and he's trying to figure this out... been sick for 15 years but i've never been as low as I am right now. so I guess my ? is any good experiences with a abx that works for g.i. lyme and that all over anxiety/restlessness/neuro crap I mentioned? If major GI issues are the symptom from Lyme that you are feeling, IV abx is the best way to get around that. It is also recommended with neuro issues.
It is what turned me around. I couldn't eat anything and was curled up in a ball of pain. IV changed all that.

Google parasite symptoms. Parasites/worms play a MAJOR role in Lyme disease. Check out the PARASITE WARRIORS SUPPORT THREAD. Lots of folks that are chronically ill are discovering it's because of this untreated co-infection.

Oddly enough, when I am on Doxy my gastro issues clear up...I have normal bm.'s on Doxy. Not so much when I am off. Who knows.. I 100% agree to address parasites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you been evaluated for SIBO? It causes an awful lot of symptoms.
The cipro and flagyl can be used to treat it, which is probably why "they used to work" for you.
Perhaps they're no longer effective for it, if you do indeed have it. There are other meds for it, like xifaxan, which is an abx that stays in the small intestine (not absorbed by the body).
I know how tough this is. Best of luck to you.

Everyone is different .. what works for one may not work for another.
Was tested for lots of parasites; all neg. But we know that doesn't mean it truly is.... desertwind and beaches - these recommendations couldn't come at a better time!! i have an llmd appt this afternoon and have never been on either; I will ask/ suggest and report back.
Thank you to all. This is such a lonely place to be sometimes; there's solace in knowing Im not alone.
