Three weeks ago after my LLNP visit we changed my meds and dropped Mepron/Zithro and added Bactrim.
When I started Mepron in Sept. I got left sided headaches for about a month that went away. I never had headaches like that before. I also got some facial nerve issues that again went away in about a month.
Now one side headaches are back as is the numbness but not all the time. Light and noise sensitivity is up. Plus I feel horrible if I am out in the sun that can last a few hours..seems like it makes my headache worse. I am using sunscreen due to sun sensitivity of new drug.
New symptom is I can hear my heart beat in my left ear which is side get headaches on. Which is also the side I have blood flow issues per my spec scan. I did hit a metal street sign pole headfirst while bike racing in 2007 on that side of my head as well.
LLNP said we have never treated Bart so stay the course.
Anyone else get one sided headaches that sun and noise make worse? Can hear your heart beat in your ear?

trimom,
I can hear my heartbeat...in both my ears. So annoying. I am currently seeking explanations for this and possible treatments.
It definitely gets worse and gets better but never goes completely. I was also evaluated for CCSVI, which I have. Am wondering if that may be the issue.
The sun and/or heat definitely makes the symptom worse.
I never had one sided headaches but had lots of headaches on Mepron/Zith. They got less severe over time but was always a herx symptom for me.
Currently on Malarone and adding in Artimisinin soon. My headaches are better on this protocol but not the ear pounding.
Hang in there!

How long were you on Mepron and Zith? Do you feel your Babs symptoms are coming back?
Babs can be tough to erradicate and often needs fairly long treatment.

I was on mepron/zith for 7 months.
I do worry that Babs is coming back.
Only have gotten headaches with early treatment on Mepron/Zith
I'm also taking IV clindymicyn that is supposed to hit Babs as well.
