I am treating for parasites. I took ivermectin for 18 mos (pulsed) and my asthma breathing issues greatly improved. I hada miserable herx for a few months , so believe it was killing a parasite .
Now I am taking albendazole ( Dr K parasite rotation) . I looked it up at wikipedia and it appeared to target same organisms. Now I am having a STRONG die off, which I did not expect after using ivermectin .
Does the albendazole hit DIFFERENT organisms ? I can not understand why I am still having a strong reaction to it after getting used to iver . Can anyone explain this?

It must be hitting something different, but not sure what.
I'm pretty sure albendazole passes the blood brain barrier.

I can't say anything specific. All I know is that rotating several anti-parasitics is part of what got my son and myself well. We did Alinia, albendazole, biltricide, mebendazole. I don't think we ever did Ivermectin.
Also, herbals, Parastat and Parastroy.
And number one... a clean diet to heal the gut: h veggies, fish, chicken, meat, salads, cut back on bread and pasta. I also think lots of broth helped me... I didn't even make it homemade, just drank a lot of the canned stuff.
I would guess, since my doctor gave me lots of different anti-parasitics, she must think they hit different things.

marypart - how long did you take mebendazole? Just curious. Did you pulse it or take it daily?

Marypart, Can you share more about how you did this protcol , your meds and time on them and how you have improved. Many of us could benefit from your experience !! Did you have lyme or babs ? Have you had an improvement with energy and function?

I found a chart on Wikipedia that puts the various antiparasitics into their categories, according to how they function.
Ivermectin falls into the category of "Antinematodal agents", which I think means roundworms like filarial worms, pinworms, nematodes, etc. It attacks these in a different way from mebendazole, or pyrantel which are also for roundworms.
Albendazole falls into the category of "Antiplatyhelminic agents" which means flatworms. It functions differently from Praziquantel which is also for flatworms.
You can see why alternating the drugs makes sense. Not only will you attack various kinds of critters, you'll get them from different directions.
I'm sure there is much more to this issue, but this is kind of a basic framework. See the Wikipedia page for the chart, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antiplatyhelmintic_agent Posted by fourwinds (Member # 14114) on :

Albendazol passes the BBB and it hits eggs and larvae. Most don't do this.

Yes it does hit other organisms, I'm sure there is a link somewhere.
What are you experiencing on Albenza?
Each time I take it I feel like I was hit by a mac truck a day or two later. I suppose it's die-off but was't really sure.

I am experiencing classic herxing similar to that with doxycycline , bactrim , colloidal silver , and ivermectin. Extreme achiness, fluishmess, mild headache , painful sore lymph nodes in throat area.
I am sure it is die off . I did not expectit after finally getting used to ivermectin . I thought they hit same organisms , so did not think I would have a big herx.
I wonder if a day comes when you feel better . I feel like I always have the herx but never make big improvement . makes me wonder how many pathogens we are fighting or why years of herxing does not yield big results.
I appreciate any help given here or ideas.

Not sure what meds you are on now, but have you ever seen any parasites exit into the toilet? Sometimes it takes quite a lot of antiparasitics or the right combo for them to let go.
I found that after mos of antiparasitic herbs (they were dying) but it was when I added the salt/c all he## broke loose and I had a mass exodus of parasites. You will feel better and better when they finally let go.

Has anyone heard of a parasite drug called diethylcarbamazine? I have heard it is potent and supposed to kills wide variety of parasites .
Any info?

Also : just my 2 cents, but the fact that I am having a powerful reaction to both ivermectin and fenbenzadole tells me that parasites are indisputably involved in lyme disease .
If there was a serious effort at studying blood of lyme and CFIDS patients , I think that parasites would be EVIDENT and they would connect the two . I predict it may happen in the future unless there is too much money to made off "treatments " . Since there is no treatment that really works well for either , maybe a study will materialize .
I think parasites are the missing link in getting well, but I fear we can not eliminate them permanently . The people who are on salt C have to stay on it . Those who have FRYE protozoa have to stay on ivermectin or they relapse . Still a murky situation ...

I've also read Lyme has parasite DNA...so maybe that's another reason the antiparasitics work so well for some?

Dumb question - I don't suppose any of the de-wormer "azoles" could be cyst busters?

There's also the issue of resistance. The bugs may build up a resistance to a particular worm med or herb. There are thousands of different kinds of parasites. There isn't alot of studies - so who knows what we are actually dealing with or which med kills what "stage" of the parasite.
Some things may work agains the adult worm but not against other stages in development. Some parasites have very complicated life cycles. Not to mention - they have been tampered with...
This whole thing with Monsanto is a nightmare as to what is being created & put into food.
I think it's a good idea to rotate the treatments. I don't think we ever get rid of the parasites completely. Plus, you can easily acquire new ones. The eggs can be microscopic & pretty much everywhere.
