Which ones are the safest and best?

Yikes. I would get the kind that are not silver. They're shaped similar to the silver ones, but have some sort of black metal on the ends and are sharper on the edges and you can get a better grip, deeper down on the skin, if you will...
Keep a special jar to keep them in so they don't get used!

I use something called a tick twister but I "DO NOT" twist it. Never twist the tick, just pull straight out!!
This little gadget just slips right under the tick head and then I pull straight out. I have two different sizes so if the tick is tiny, the smaller one works better,

Why not the silver ones? I saw some once that were very pointed and looked good.
I didn't think you should twist either, so was not sure I wanted that one.
I don't have a tick, but I also don't have any tweezers! Kinda stupid not to be ready for one!

I like the "ticked off" remover, it has a "spoon" at the point of the V so you can carry it to your dispenser ( I use an old prescription bottle filled with alcohol ).
I need a place to put them because this year we have been pulling anywhere from 10-30 a day off our horses, with the spoon I don't have to worry about losing the tick after removing it.

Also wanted to mention I have NEVER had a tick break off with the remover, I can't say that about using a tweezer.

I have had the tick break off with just about any tweezer and not gotten all of it out. The tick twister just slides under the tick no matter how small and lets you get all the way under it.
Also, it is easier to get it into a container as the device sort of holds it in place like a spoon. Still have to move quickly so you don't drop the little critter.

I bought a Tick Key from Amazon...cheaper in multiples.
They have them on Amazon, just search ticked off tick remover, and for some reason they have them for .25 cents??
Thanks for having me look !!-- I think I will order a few more -- it's the best one I have found, and I remove ALOT of ticks, it is the worst year I have ever seen for the amount of ticks in Minnesota thanks to the cold wet spring.

I hate Amazon. I was going to order several tick tweezers and a PAPERback book.. total order about $20. They were going to charge me $28+ to ship the stuff. Forget it.
I'll go look at Walgreen's for one.

My son has some in his EMT kit and they work better than any tick remover on the planet. Could not get a tick out recently with the IGENEX tick remover but he broke those suckers out and BAM.
They are really big medical tweezers.

Lymetoo, there are some vendors at Amazon who put low prices on their items, but then charge alot for shipping. I usually just look for a different vendor.
You can see a list of all the vendors for an item by clicking at the end of "more buying choices." Sometimes it's easier to choose vendors who are all covered under "free shipping with $25 orders."
If the tick key is listed at $.59 plus $4.99 shipping, it's still less expensive than the others listed at $5.80 to $7.19, with free shipping.
I found that some items have multiple listings, with just a slight word difference in the title. The prices can vary dramatically.

What was so annoying was that I couldn't see the charges for each item, so I didn't even know WHICH item was the one with expensive charges.
Amazon just has a lousy system. I never can see the ingredient lists of supplements, you can't find out shipping charges; it's pathetic.

Lymetoo, try deleting the book from the stuff you're ordering, and see what the shipping costs are.
You're right, they usually don't have a good list of ingredients for supplements. I check that at iHerb.com or Vitacost.

I know. It's such a pain. I think the extra charges were from those tick spoons that were real "cheap." They must have had high shipping charges.
