I've lost a LOT of hair, rather upsetting on top of everything else. It won't hold color either.
Does it grow back once your off it?

You're scaring me!! I've been in Diflucan quite awhile but haven't experienced any hair loss. Is your yeast under control?

Me too-I'm suppose to start diflucan next week!
How long have you been on diflucan?

I had some hair loss once and I thought maybe it was yeast. So I got some dandruff shampoo and the hair loss stopped.

I have not had any hair loss on Diflucan, in fact, it's started to grow back since treating yeast. I was just thinking yesterday how amazed I was that only a few strands fall out each wash now. It used to be in clumps so bad it scared me. I think mine was related to stress, too.

I have been on Difican for many months, at least 4 o5...I can't really remember. Still have some yeast issues, I can only handle 100mg per day dose.
My hair loss was moderate before starting it, it picked up speed since then. I had a lion's mane prior, now the texture, thickness and amount has signifcantly changed.
YES! It is scary. But, not everybody experiencing the same side effects.

I've been on Diflucan since Jan. I have not had a hair loss issue yet.
well once I did, but it had nothing to do with Lyme or the ABX. I caught my hair on fire in our bonfire!!!

jjourneys, that hilarious...but tragic. We enjoy bonfires out here in rural Loudoun County too. I hope I never catch my hair on fire. Posted by bellajo (Member # 28738) on :
I lost a lot of hair when on high doses of Diflucan. It took me a long time to figure out what it was. It is coming back after being off of it, but it has taken quite awhile.

What was a high dose...and how long we're you on it?

Lots of my hair fell out on meds. I was much sicker then too, so maybe that's why I was losing hair. I took a few months break from meds and my hair grew back like crazy!
Posted by bellajo (Member # 28738) on :
I was taking 400 mg/day for 5 - 6 months

Try supplementing with large dose of Biotin that seemed to help me.

Huh - I had taken 200 mg/day about a month ago and my hair is still falling out. Then again, maybe it's menopause...

It's an established side effect of fluconazole but from what I've read it usually manifests after larger longterm dosing such as 400+ mgs per day.
It will usually grow back but may take some time.
Make sure other important aspects of hair growth are OK too...ferritin level, thyroid, b vitamins, d, etc. Primrose oil is good for the hair too.
