I need to find a good Gastro in Co, Ks. or Ne. I have Lyme, but think I have something else going on in my large intestines.

Bartonella can also cause major GI problems. Most gastros will not know this.

How did you decide this was not lyme? Lyme affects nerves and the GI function is controlled by nerves.

So, it could still be one or another tickborne disease doing this to you.

My Lyme symptoms are much better. Tremors, migraines, anxiety, moodiness, insomnia, fatigue, brain fog are much better.

My gut issues seem to have more to do with what I eat.

I am not saying the Lyme didn't cause the large intestine issue, but past experience has taught me to address issues in organ and other areas.

I have had 3 necessary surgeries I feel were caused by Lyme.

I just want to make sure I don't have Chrons disease, Cancer, or other major issues in my large intestines.

I had a colonoscopy 4 years ago that showed nothing, but I can't seem to get my bowels well.

Anything spicy, night shades, gluten, or carbs seems to set off a reaction in my left hip area.

Once I can clear the food out of my body the problems get better.

Like everyone else, looking for answers.

Make sure you avoid gluten like it's a poison!! IT IS a poison for so many.

Go to www.celiac.com and print off lists of OK and not-OK foods and ingredients. You may be ingesting hidden gluten somewhere.

How about dairy? Avoiding that too?

my left hip is also a problem area. i walk like i'm 100 years old with severe lower back problems.

whether it stems from intestine problems or not, i don't know.

could be it's all related, lower back, hips and gastro issues.

who knows? i don't anymore

Leaky gut?

Poppy, I do think I have leaky gut. I have described and asked my LLMD about this. He is more interested in treating the Lyme.

I know my gut has healed a bit because I can eat a few things I didn't used to be able to eat.

Still, I want my digestion tract to feel better, because if it feels better, I think I will have a big piece that is missing in my health.

You probably need to address possible yeast.

I am on nystatin. It seems to work better for me than /Diflucan which makes me really sick.

I also have a very clean diet with no sugar, gluten, starchy carbs, or night shades. It is the most boring and restrictive diet.

If I don't eat this way I pay for it and feel like I need to be in the hospital.

Frankly I am very tired of it, but the alternative is worse.

Amen to that. I'm on the same crappy diet myself for the same reasons!
