I've been on a plateau with treatment for a while (Lyme, Bartonella & Mycoplasma)...haven't begun treating biofilms yet. Energy level is up enough that I feel like I can go back to work part time at least. I've got an offer, less than 10 miles from home for 4 days a week & about 4 or 5 hours a day. I think my body can handle it.

Just wondering what others might have gone through when they started back to work??? Anything recommended to prevent a relapse, etc.???

I have been working right along through it. I took 3 wks off prior to being diagnosed but that was it. Somedays it's hard, but I also feel its good to push ourselves a little bit and to get out and do something.

Make sure that your employer will let you cut back a bit if you feel it is too much starting out. No one can tell you how you will feel starting out 4 days a week.

Most people try to do too much too fast once they feel better. Be careful.

Thanks for the insight. Just curious how others handled the return to work. I've been pushing myself to get to at least 5-6 hours of productivity a day for several weeks.

I went back to work full time when I could. It was very hard. The only thing, it may the day go by faster. I'd rather be sick and doing something to keep my mind off it, than sick at home suffering alone. However, there were times when I was really bad, and took a medical leave.

You won't know until you try. Good luck!

If you do this, let us know how it goes. I am stuck in the same quandary. How does one know when to go back to work, when doing so may cause a backslide?

I went on fmla, and now am on std. It was really difficult to do but I felt I was getting nowhere (and getting worse) even with treatment.

I couldn't believe the how many of my symptoms were relieved by not going into work. And I am making good progress with treatment.

Good luck if you do it.
