My son was bit by a tick on July 4, I pulled it out and have it. He had a small rash, but no bulls eye. I went to our GP and they would not treat. I live in Houston and there are no doctors in our area. Can someone PM me which ABX to use and at what dosage? The 2008 guidelines says 50mg a day divided into q8h, not sure what that means. That does not seem enough for a 9 year old who weighs 85 lbs.

I am starting to panic, he is getting a low grade fever. I will go to a ER place with the abx recommendation and pray they fill it.

These guidelines are from "the other side," but they may be helpful in comparing choices and doses. And they are weight-based.

If your child is 9 years old and already has their adult upper front teeth, you may consider 30 days of doxycycline.

Check the Burrascano guidelines at ilads.org.

May want to check integrative (or functional) MDs or osteopaths.
