Saw a wonderful LLMD today who diagnosed me right away with lyme from my western blot, I actually cried like a baby
I've gone through a year of tests and doctors saying I was fine. He is starting me on bactrim for a month to see how bad I
herx and then said he would start more aggressive treatment. He also said my symptoms were so bad he wasn't sure how much
Worse I could get. I'm going to start tonight. How long does it take to herx? Any stories about your experiences? I'm nervous.

Well, detoxing really does make a difference... lots of various ways, but have stuff available to help--
I remember people saying day 4, sometimes that was true with an oral antibiotic change up.
Sorry you are 'here' it's crazy to have it sink in, I know. Today I had another level of it 'sinking in'
Milk thistle, Epsom salt baths, Alka Selter Gold, glutathione, supplements for inflammation, and of course, quality probiotics, are some things that help.

I just herxed for 1 day and then it was gone. For me, it was just increased pain in the joints and some swelling (sort of like really bad PMS). Never herxed again. Did aggressive treatment for 6 months and am now in remission.
I had to rebuild my body afterwards from all the lyme/antibiotic wear and tear. Not everyone herxes bad to get get well.
Keep eating healthy and get on a good detox program.
Be sure to take a good quality probiotic everyday away from the antibiotic dose.

- Start liver support (also referred to as "detox" but "detox" can also be more involved) BEFORE the first Rx, if you can. If you've already started, keep separate by 2-3 hours (both clock diretions):
