I can't do IV's for various reasons so I'm investigating the potential to do IM rocephin. Does anyone know the approximate cost and where would be the best place to get it?
I'm assuming the IM dose is likely 1-2 grams per day. Is the type sold in vials for IV the same as what's used for IM?

Do you have a prescription drug plan? IM Rocephin vials should only cost your normal co-pay.
Some folks get the IM vials and mix it themselves with saline for IV.
Sorry I don't have any real $$$ figures to share

I did 3 months of IM Rocephin earlier this year. Luckily, I only had to pay the $10 Rx co-pay since my insurance paid for it. I was given the 1 g vials that were mixed with Lidocaine. And, yes, these were the same vials used for IV.

Any LLMD I have seen didn't want me to mix on my own. I used Infuserve and the drugs are put together in a clean room.
