This is so frustrating. So the same drug that costs me 10 bucks/month since the beginning of treatment, is now 180.00. Has anyone else noticed this? I've checked all online and costco pharmacies. Ugh.
What are some alternatives? GSE? Olive leaf does nothing.
It's the only thing that works for yeast. Nystatin doesn't.

SEAGATE is the only capsule OLE I've found that works. Others just don't measure up. However, for tincture (to use as mouth rinse), Herb Pharm OLE tincture is excellent, too.
Four capsules, four x a day, worked very well for me. Totally kept candida away the last time I was on antibiotics. (New comers: When possible, start a day before antibiotics.)

I agree with Razzle. Just like the oil and gas companies are sticking it to us right now. It's all about $$. If you create a shortage then you can raise the prices.

Wow, finally!! The prices at various pharmacies for various meds vary enormously. You would think that they would be obligated to provide a price list (they used to have to where I live), but you can't get one, no matter how much you ask.
These "drug shortages" of generic drugs are criminal. It's going on with LOTS of generic drugs. Or they are simply not available at all anymore, because they can't make their humungous profits off generic drugs.

I thought my Rxs had exploded in price too. It turned out that I had reached my max on Rx benefits for the year.
I had never done this before, but this was a particularly bad and expensive year (so far). Did you check this, just to see? I had to actually call insurance and eventually speak to management to get this answer.

I've price shopped everywhere for almost every script. Costco is the lowest hands down.(most the time)

I get all my Rx through Costco, 99% time best price and they don't mess it up.
The pharmacists really go out of their way to help me over the phone when I'm concerned about stuff.
They've even called me to check on things they had questions regarding my Rx.

Another option is getting it compounded as a liquid from a compounding pharmacy. I have seen several drugs be way cheaper this way, including fluconazole ("diflucan"). The reason is, they mark up the pills because most people buy them that way, but the compounding pharmacies can still get the pure drug at a reasonable price, and unless they are trying to screw you, they'll sell it for way cheaper than the pills cost.

No price change or shortage here in the Boston area. I just picked up my RX yesterday. It must vary by region?
You can also take coconut oil for candida. Its supposed to be a great anti-fungal due to its make up of 3 medium chain fatty acids. I use Extra Virgin coconut oil and melt it so its liquid. The extra virgin and the liquid state (vs solid=ick!!) taste much better and make it much easier to take.
I'm also taking SF722 to help get the candida under control. I took garlic pills for a while too, but rotated that out. Good luck to you!

We live in AZ- Capitol of Valley Fever. My mom went to Walgreens to pick up her normally $18.00 prescription for her dog and was told it was now $344.00. I wonder if this is another perk from Obamacare? How on earth can the price go up like this? My mom lives on a fixed income from social security. Is there any way to fight this?

Gotrotts, it's a by product of a long history (decades) where our government allowed profits before people. Welcome to capitolism 101. These drug companies want to make money. Maybe they are creating shortages like the oil companies did a few years ago. Short the consumer and the price goes up. And maybe they aren't making the profits they thought they were on their new drugs. No shock there, no one can afford them.
This has slowly been going on for decades. Obama was actually trying to prevent this balloon from getting bigger, but some members of congress just couldn't see it anymore than an allopathic doc can see lyme.
I see you are new here. You may not know that pushing politics is not normally allowed on this board. I can just as easily find another piece that negates the one you just posted, but I'm not going to (I'm done).

I actually saw a list of all the premium prices for the ACA exchanges broken up by city and it looked like premiums were going way down for many.
I'm not sure about pharmaceuticals though.
Not to get too political, but I think Big Pharma just like big business will use any excuse to raise prices.

You must treat for systemic yeast before you will ever get better. I would recommend that if your Lyme is stable stop abc and treat yeast. Systemic yeast has same symptoms as Lyme. Must go on yeast free and celiac diet, take diflucan or vfend, I also recommend antiviral to prevent viral takeover. Doc dave
