My doctor is suggesting I get back on oral antibiotics (combination) after being off for several years. I have been sick for 25 years, was on orals and IV's for years early on, then went off for the past ten to focus on other treatments. I am getting worse month by month, year by year.
I am looking for some suggestions/thoughts on whether to go back on or not, and if I do, would it be better to do IV's for a better blast? Will going back on orals first interfere with the effectiveness of IV's down the road? Thanks.

Some people think it is better to start with orals to decrease the load so the herx is not so bad, as it might be with IV first.

Sometimes people who fail abx eventually seek out a good ART practitioner to help treat lyme and company. I think Dr. K is a genius, and his methods have proven to be helpful as well as instrumental to recovery. The same with Doc H, but unfortunately they are worlds apart. I feel like we need both forms of treatment though. If one doesn't work, maybe try the other.

Istotesb...

I am responding to your post because you are asking for suggestions/thoughts.

This is my thought....why would anyone go back to the same treatment they had done before (for years), if it didn't work the first time?

If the treatment you did for years before worked, you'd be well now.

I understand your dilemma, as I was called an "antibiotic failure" and told I "needed a miracle" by LLMD's.

I did, however, ultimately get well, and, now have my life back thanks to mild hyperbaric treatment(mHBOT).

Just wanted to make you aware of another option that actually WORKS...!!!

Thanks to all for your responses and suggestions. Unfortunately I tried HBOT and that did not work. I will figure something out, just a long battle.

Isotesb...

Many people have not had success with mHBOT or HBOT...but it is usually (if not always, in my opinion), because of how the protocol was done (or not done).

I have some questions for you:

What kind of chamber were you treated in?
At what pressure were you diving?
At what altitude was the chamber located?
How frequent were your treatments?
How long were you in the chamber per session?
How many sessions did you do, and over what period of time?
Did you take breaks? How long?

All of these factors are crucial to the success of treatment.

For example, I didn't feel I was improving after 40 sessions, and almost sent my chamber back to the vendor, as I didn't think it was working for me. I was encouraged to continue...and thank God I did...because I cringe to think of where I would be right now if I had quit too soon...
