Hi everyone, who can interpret this symptom pattern? My symptoms during these flares is a mild flu-like feeling, mild sore throat, often accompanied by rage, irritation, agitation, sometimes insomnia, a general feeling of being sick.

The pattern has definitely changed since being on abx. I don't believe it to be borrelia.

I experience this pattern with the full moon and the new moon. Many of us watch for the full moon effect. Is this when you flare? The question is are you treating parasites? That is what I believe causes my flare during these periods.

Hi Truesun,
no, I have checked it, and there is no overlap with the full moon cycle.
Best,

It could be babesiosis.

My lyme doc told me that babs has a 14-day cycle and a 7-day cycle.

I experienced both. First I experienced the 7-day cycle, meaning that I had a horrible flare every 7 days.

Then, after a number of months of babs treatment, it switched to the 14-day cycle. My symptoms were not yours, but we are all different.

My babs was so mild that I really didn't seem to have any babs symptoms. But, after treating lyme and bart, we went after the babs and that is when the horrible babs flares hit me like clock-work.

My symptoms were mental and also a terrible feeling of being totally sick. So, all I did was lay there during the flares. I didn't talk, walk, eat, etc. I went in and out of consciousness. The mental symptom was a major feeling of DOOM! It made me believe that I would never get better and that I would always be this terribly sick.

Even when I had the pattern over and over 4 times, I still could not convince myself during a flare that the flare would end and I would go back to my normal self.

So, the flares were totally horrible. But, with treatment, they became very mild (just a need to sleep) and they became much shorter. When my doc added artemesinin to my treatment, the flares became this way. So, if you are not taking art on flare days, I suggest you do.

My doc had me start the art right before I expected the flare and to continue taking it until the flare was done. He said you have to encompass the flare with the art. It worked like a miracle.

Hope this helps you. I had babesiosis microti.

The symptoms sound like they could be from Bartonella. Do you have it?

thanks Tf & sammi,
I treated babs before, so I have definitely had it. I am also suspecting it to be bart, and am treating it currently. I am just not convinced since my impression is most people on this board who have/treat bart do not experience flares as I do. Do others with bart experience a certain flare pattern?
