Bicillin is the only drug that helps to take the edge off of my remaining symptoms (meaning, it doesn't stop/cure them...rather, it simply quiets them down); symptoms which may represent actual long-term damage, at this point.

That said, the wait between the 3rd shot at the end of one week and the 1st shot at the start of the new week is difficult (meaning, it's definitely a stretch!). Am feeling that I'd be a good candidate for that 4th shot in one week, and am thinking (hoping!) that my LLMD will, too.

I will be consulting with said LLMD this coming week, but, before then, I'd love to hear the input from others who have maybe increased their Bicillin injection schedules from 3 shots/week to 4 shots/week. Successes? Difficulties? I'm referring to the 1.2 million unit shots of the stuff, by the way...

Thank you all so much for weighing in!

Told you...

I didn't get that from Bicillin - feeling relief, and then starting to have that wane until the next shot was due.

I do know Bicillin injections combined with a cyst buster, in my case Tindamax 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off, was a turning point for me.

Are you using a cyst buster? Because if not, could be you are putting the spirochetes into cyst (hiding) with each shot, then when it starts to fade,

spirochetes come out again making you feel worse until next shot sends them ducking for cover.

I think the shots do put them into cyst mode. It kills off some & many make it into cyst mode before the white blood cells can attack them.

I went from 3 to 4 shots & it was no big deal. Only issue was a more sore bottom.

When I first started the shots I felt much better, especially after 3-4 weeks. No way near what I thought was normal, but at least not on a rapid decline as I was before the shots.

Just like everything it wore off in about 3-4 months & then again it sent me scramming to find something else.

When I was doing IM Bicillin-LA shots, I did think 4.8 mill. units would be the best. At the time I was getting one shot a week of 2.4 mill. units, but by the fourth day I really needed another shot. Someone else close to me would also say five shots a week (1.2 mill. units) was needed. So they certainly would say four shots a week (of 1.2 mill. units) was required.

My well-known LLMD gave me Bicillin, 1.2 mu/shot. I took 1 shot in each butt twice a week. Had no problems with it. Have to massage area for 10 full minutes after each shot.
Good luck.

I also think body weight comes into play... I weigh about 100#, and just had the 2 a week. Can't remember the dose, just that the needle was big ;-)

Still think it needs a cyst buster...

My son did bicillin IM every other day. His new doc prefers rocephin IM and he takes 2 grams of that 3 days a week to start. New doc is having me mix it with liquid lidocaine. Much better!
