Is it necessarily the case that for Lyme and/or co-infections: a) there is always a clear on-off cycle of symptoms (i.e., feel bad for x days and then clear up for y days, then feel bad again for x days and then clear up for y days, etc.) b) the symptoms are symmetrical (i.e., left and right affected equally for each body part)
I assume that the answer to both questions is "not necessarily". Reading through other people's posts, it seems that many suffer a symptom pretty much non-stop.
My symptoms seem to vary during the day/week/etc. but I don't "feel the full moon" to quote someone else on this board. And while my symptoms are bilateral (i.e., they affect both left and right), they are not always perfectly symmetrical. For example, my left arm usually hurts more than my right one.

I too have varying symptoms. My pains or complaints are always moving - I told my dr I like it this way, that way I'm not always hurting in the same place.
Left shoulder, left ankle, right knee, right calf, both feet, right hand, left side of head, etc - Not all at the same time, rotates around. It keeps me guessing from day to day.
Cyclical - yes, 1 wk okay, 2 wk ouchies, 3 wk okay, 4 week PAIN!!! So about 14 and 28 days I can plan on not feeling good.
Hope this makes sense.

No, I had positive tests for both Lyme and Bartonella, and for the life of me could not figure out their 'cycles',
and, I kept daily notebooks recorded with all supps and medications, etc.
Now, I feel those infections are cleared for the most part, but am treating parasites (long going), and this does have a full moon affect
I feel very clearly, because they do reproduce at full moon.

I have Lyme and bart and am symptomatic every day, to the hour almost, with the same symptoms. My doctor tells me that some of this has to do with the cortisol levels in the body.....ie; feel worse as the day goes on because natural anti-inflammatory cortisol dips towards evening.

I have a few sets of symptoms: I put what I think are causing them after.
Every month: Hit like a truck the week before my period. LYME
Two weeks later: Full moon. Insomnia week. PARA
Every week: Was Fridays, now is Sundays-Terrible terrible head pain for three days, have to bring out the big, yucky meds, or go to Emerg for an IV. BABS
Every 24 hours: Extreme fatigue and foot pain feel like my Achilles tendons are going to rip off my heels. Looks like two tennis balls somehow made their way into my ankle joints. BART
Every Month: Red, round bumps on my face, neck and chest. Look like zits, but they aren't, they are smooth round bumps, shiny, almost scar like. Last for about 10 days. UNKNOWN
