Last night I ate a small hamburger broiled with green peppers and onion in it, later I had bad double vision, extreme thirst and muscle weakness. Ring a bell with any one else?
Also, I think I have forgotten...I took my first dose of Cefdinir (2 weeks on/ 2weeks off) and less than 6 hours later rapid mood swing to depression and listlessness, then exhaustion, weakness, heavy head? That's kind of a bit fast though isn't it?

Green peppers are a nightshade, which promotes inflammation.
Could also have been hormones or GMO's in the meat, pesticides on the veggies, etc.
The medication - I don't know what to say, except that I started herxing 1/2 hour into an infusion of my first dose of IV Azithromycin...sooo I think it is possible to herx pretty quickly...

Thanks, perhaps I'll leave out the green peppers for a while. Posted by madronewood (Member # 34126) on :
Some people can get a rare symptom of Lyme disease where they become allergic to meat! This form is carried by the Lone Star Tick, whose range includes Virginia. For many of those affected, it is a life-threatening allergy. Your symptoms don't sound like anaphylaxis, but could possibly be a precursor. If you google "Lyme meat allergy" you can get a bit more info. Your LLMD would be an even better source -- before eating any more meat (esp. red meat).
