For those in Chicagoland, check out the Lyme article that appeared on the front page (and more) in today's Thursday, August 22, 2013 paper written by reporter Robert McCoppin.

It's a pretty good article, but the map showing low/high risk areas might be somewhat understated. The reporter does admit that many cases are undiagnosed and unreported.

The article, although not totally comprehensive, is a good start in the right direction of educating the public and, hopefully, doctors.

Surprised to hear they got anything right about lyme, based on previous coverage which was lousy info.

CherylSue,

Thanks so much for alerting us to this. I would not have known about it otherwise and since I have family in that state, it's good that I see what they might be reading.

Here's that link for others to find it:

I agree, Poppy. Previous reporters were sketchy and often printed errouneous info about Lyme. This recent article surprised me on its coverage.

I wonder if the writer has a loved one or friend that has Lyme. Sometimes experience is the best teacher.
