Sorry to be gross but anyone else had this with Lyme? Could this be another symptom?

Hi Ook,
Is it visible to the naked eye, or came back on the lab test.
Yes, I have this.
Sometimes.
It resolves on it's own, which is great, but comes back whenever it likes.
Are you talking about large amount of blood, with clots?
Or small drips, or blood that surrounds your stool?
Always best to bring this up with your doc next time you go, and also if you develop signs of infection like intense pain, swelling, fever or pus go right away to emergency.
But yes, I have this. And was dx'd with IBS-D.

Thanks for answering me
Yes it is visible to the naked eye.
Last night I was having really bad stomach cramps with diarrhea. It looked like blood in my stool and on the toilet paper.
Then it almost looked like mucus with a little blood in it.
I feel better this morning but just thought it was strange.

I've always had this routine. Take my abx, two hrs later take garlic, two hrs later take probiotics. Now that I'm on Penicillin I have bad diarrhea. Saw my doc today and he said I can dispense with the garlic and take lots of probiotics....like up to 20 per day. Whatever dose it takes to stop the diarrhea! Shoot, I didn't know that!

*****WARNING: I'm going to graphic***
Squirting diarrhea can cause blood in stool. It can irritate the anus, causing tears in it. It can look like a bloody mess.
If the blood was bright red, it was probably this. It can look like A LOT of blood when this happens.
Too much magnesium and coconut cause me to have diarrhea. I had it really bad on amoxicillin and had to stop taking it because I then got an allergic reaction.
Garlic, onions, and spicy foods can all irritate the area and make it harder to heal.
Eat really mild foods, like boiled chicken and steamed veggies with minimal spices.
If you don't have out of control candida, plain white rice can help with diarrhea. I try to eat some rice, even rice cakes and rice crackers, when I take my antibiotics now.
The leader of my Lyme support group suggested to always eat a starch when I take antibiotics to help with the digestive issues.
This made a big difference for me.

Blood in stools can be a symptom of parasites. Check out the symptom list at www.humaworm.com Parasites has been the missing link for many with chronic lyme. Take a look at the PARASITE SYMPTOM LIST here on lymenet.

red blood means it's coming from lower in the digestive track. can mean hemorroids, diverticulitis, and with the mucous sometimes constipation by tearing the rectum.
i've had both black blood and the bright red. for me, it's diverticulitis and hemorroids.
be careful with some parasite treatments as they contain wormwood and other stuff which can irritate the colon. sort of like sandpaper..

If this is the first time you've had blood in stool, you need to get it checked by a doctor.
Abx can cause C. Diff., which can cause bloody diarrhea.
