Is it typical for pain to be worse on one side?

My left side is worse overall than the right, but they both have significant pain, aches and stiffness. Of note: I had knee replacement surgery in January 2012...on the LEFT knee.

Thanks. I am interested to hear if anyone else has experienced significantly more pain on one side.

I do believe it’s common, I’ve always had much more pain on my right side – (8 years).

Yes, me as well. Always worse for pain and twitching on one side.

Yes, for some, one-sided pain being more intense than the other is common. There can be various reasons to this and some can be structural or that lyme has settled into some past injury.

Trying to predict even one day's pop ups, Lyme symptoms are sort of like the question about "Where does an elephant sit?"

Anywhere it wants. Whenever it wants. for how short or long a time as it wants.

Body work, attention to your posture (chairs, solid shoes with arch support) also matters.

Restorative Yoga might help. As might Qi Gong or Tai Chi.

Google: UPLEDGER INSTITUTE and find someone near you trained in this approach. It's gentle yet to the point. Safe for those with lyme.

Never let anyone suddenly twist your neck / spine / any joint (well, unless it's out of socket). That is a huge "never, ever" with lyme.

Pain can be caused by all kinds of food additives / sensitivities:

Excitotoxins; MSG; Aspartame; & "Natural" Flavors (that are not likely natural at all)

What helps the most: MAGNESIUM, FISH OIL and

LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.

WATER is essential, too.

What a great description. What is also mind boggling (to me) is the literal seconds like time speed the pain can migrate from place to place.

Yes, your body can be trying to compensate for a problem on the other side or even other places on your body. My osteopath is always talking about about when he does adjustments on me.

For example, I have problems with my right jaw muscle, BUT I only feel pain on the left and there's nothing wrong with that muscle.
