Sorry for the TMI, but does anybody else have stabbing anal pain?
Sometimes sensitive down there, but today is really brutal. Hard to stand and sit. Not sure what the deal is.

Sometimes.
For me, it seems to act up right before my period. And act up...sometimes knocks me to the ground.
I often wondered if it was a bit of endo.
It could also be ovarian cysts. A friend with lots of cysts says it feels like she has a broomstick jammed up her rectum when the pain is at it's worst.

There is an area there that can become inflamed. I have a lyme friend who had anal spasms and she had to take Valium when it would hit. She would be unable to sleep otherwise.
Someone posted here a few months ago about pain in this area and now I can't remember what the diagnosis was. She named it.
One thing you can look up is ischial bursitis. That may lead you to the other area that may be more correct for your situation.
Yes, I too have had this. Thought it was a herx, it has seemed to gone away though.
Couldn't sit, stand or barely walk when it happened. Would hit 1-3 days a week, every other week.
But about 6 mos later I ended up with a thrombosed hemmeroid - no pain like that!!!Don't know if the other pains were leading up to this or not - hopefully you don't have one of these pop up!
For relieve from the anal pain, I used ice packs, I'd sit on them, put them on my butt when I was laying down. Lots of Epson salt baths.

It's so weird. Sometimes I have no pain at all and even forget about it, other times I get hit usu with a bowel movement and a sharp pain. Usually the muscles get tight when this happens.
