A couple of tests that my ND ran since I've been home came in- I have a severe blastocystis infection. Also candida and stage 2 adrenal fatigue.
ND says adrenal panel compared with the previous shows my body has been through an intense trauma recently, so we have to wait to do anything for infection but treat the adrenals in the meantime. He doesn't want me to go into stage 3 so I have to calm my system before I can hit anything again.
But I'm reading what I can on the blasto parasite- never heard of it before yesterday.
I know this is a really common infection but affects people with compromised immune systems much more and is really hard to get rid of...
Anyone here get over this parasite? Did it make you lose a lot of weight too?

Don't know much about this, but Mayo Clinic says it does cause weight loss.
Do you mean blastocystis hominis? If so I had it about 5 yrs ago. I was very I'll with horrible stomach pains and my stool had an awful smell and appeared greasy. Stool testing revealed it and I was put on flagyl. Thank you for the info Ellen and Steve. Yes that's it- blastocystis hominis. Yes, my stomach hurts bad especially at night adn I've lost 80lbs.
Ellen did you beat this bug then? That's hopeful if you did!

Hi Daynise,
I had this all throughout my childhood.
The docs kept saying it was, "Non-pathogenic" and wouldn't treat it.
Don't have it now, and have not received treatment for it.

However, I did have giardia about a gazillion times and got flagyl for it a gazillion times too, so maybe the flagyl killed the blasto also
If I got blasto now I think it would derail me. Immune system can't take anything anymore.

I had plenty of intestinal symptoms from blastocystis hominis. Be aware that most of our immune systems are in our intestines and is is important to clear any impediments.
I got rid of it using 500mg alinia (10 days at 2x/day).

Rife therapy helped me a lot for blastocystis. I used the GB4000 with the MOPA.
Chlorine dioxide also may kill it.
I think I finally got rid of mine with these two things.
