We are treating Bartonella now while also treating lyme. Currently taking Omniceft, zithromax and tinidazole, have been on this for 2 months. I think his pain issue now is bartonella, as he has been having muscle pain on and off in his upper leg and arm, and also just noticed a bump on his arch of his foot.

Has anyone had any success in clearing bartonella from a child? I know you cannot give the quinolone abx to a child/teen and see that for many this is the drug that has helped them the most. I would guess our next step would be to move on to Rifamphin.

Any advice on what to do next? What has worked for others?

Rifampin is used with the children.

Bactrim may be a more tolerable drug to use assuming he doesn't have a sulfa allergy.
