If someone has MCS (multiple chemical sensitivities)... any suggestions on what kind of mattress to buy?

My friend purchased a wool mattress. It helped her MCS immensely!

Go looking at organic websites. There are places out there. You're in NY so maybe even some places like warehouse/stores you could shop at to actually see and test before ordering.
I just went thru this ordeal 2 mths ago. Looking and looking for something without the toxic matter added in.
There was a company just 20 minutes from my home and I got in car and drove before calling them. They had moved their plant/showroom and I couldn't locate them. I'm not good with directions. Getting lost and driving around not good.
Came home and called and called them. Finally spoke with live person and did some reading on recent reviews from some customers and just didn't think I wanted to deal with company. Showroom no longer available??
By law I would have to have doctor rx to get mattress without toxic, supposedly fire safe and demanded by our gov. They order companies to use cancer causing chemicals in our beds?????
They seemed to be in financial troubles. '08 & 09 did in or almost did in many small businesses.
$3000-4000 is a lot of money. To spend that kind of money and not know if I liked their product and could sleep on it....was very worrisome to me.
The shipping costs from mostly west coast manufactures was big money too, going to KY. I decided our king mattress was still in good enough shape to give it a few more years.
Hopefully more and more organic companies will come about or the big name mattress companies will finally realize there is a market for ORGANIC non toxic mattresses. Cost might then come down????
So I spent $$$ and got a new top of line feather bed topper. I loved the one we had for 7 yrs. Their products are great Pacific Coast Feather Beds. 10 yr warranty. So thick and like sleeping at a fine luxury hotel bed.
Jamie, good luck. I hope you find what you are looking for. I spent some real time on the web searching and reading.
