I'm thinking of making whey protein shakes with a chocolate flavor sweetened with stevia...is this ok for us? what if I mix in other powdered vitamins, will that be ok? thanks :-)

Good audio from Dr. Hines on his whey protein smoothie and HCL therapy for lyme. He has some original ideas.

It seems to be really helpful for digestion issues.

Gosh, I hope so. It's been my breakfast for a month now.

I would think "WHEY is OK" as long as it had a short ingredient list. No artifical sweeteners etc.

Best to keep whey separate from vitamins, some vitamins that contain acid (and fruit) can destroy the good effect of whey.

Why WHEY best alone, in water, not blended

Vitamins, in most forms, are usually best in the middle of a good meal. Some vitamins can be irritating to stomach or give too much of an energy surge, especially B3 (niacin), if not enough solid food that will "carry" them along for a nice sustained release over hours.

I make my own kefir and I think it forms some whey when I let it sit out longer before straining and refrigerating. I wonder if this gives you the same benefits?

I was told to stay away from whey. It is dairy, not recommended for those with autoimmune conditions.
