anyone know where to do HBOT in NYC/Brooklyn area? can it be done along with ABX?

- Q #1: can you ABX and HBOT at the same time?
Yes. There is a particular way, though, to prepare and to "load" your antibiotic doses before a dive. Your LL doctor is the best to guide you on that. Support methods should be in place and ready for afterward, too.
Q #2. Location? Hope others will help with that. Support groups should be a good help. -

Hi Karawhite...
This question is more complex than it sounds.
Yes you can do both antibiotics and hyperbaric, but whether or not this is the best route for you personally would require someone with experience in both to advise you.
On one hand, it is theorized that HBOT/mHBOT potentiates antibiotics. One might say, "Great, why not just kill bugs faster?"
On the other hand, however, what goes in must come out, and the more toxins are ingested, the more the body has to remove. This process, in my opinion, although greatly assisted by hyperbaric, takes a lot of energy away from the repair/restore/rebuild mode...and may actually slow ones progress, rather like bailing out a boat with a hole in it.
So...would it be possible for you to have an initial appointment/consult with a doctor that is using mHBOT with his patients, and also uses antibiotics, if that is your choice? That way, you would have some guidance and recommendations to go by, and could continue treatment closer to where you live.
It sounds like it would be about a 3-1/2 hour drive for you, but maybe you could even have a phone consult...

She's very knowledgeable. I did my first hbot dives with her and Dr. Kopelson (since retired) in 2001. People *did* take antibiotics, and if you can tolerate them, it's a very good idea to do both, it's your best chance of a cure.

This place used to have mhbot. The best option, use strong antibiotics, hardchamber hbot for at least one month, then switch to mhbot

I have a son who lives in Brooklyn and it's closer to a five hour drive from there to the DC area, which is where Rockville, MD is. I don't know how you could do that daily as is needed in HOBT.

Hi lymednva...
I understand about the distance.
I was suggesting an initial consult with this doctor to develop a protocol, then possibly renting or purchasing a mHBOT chamber to be used at home for daily treatment over the long term...
