I had a question for those of you that have done IV Rocephin more than once.
The first time I was ever on it, it was like a magical wonder drug. In particular for joint pain and brain fog, I got remarkably better, very quickly. We did orals after that for awhile, eventually I went off of everything and was healthy for a whole year.
When I relapsed, my first thought was "do that Rocephin thing again!" But the second time around, it wasn't as effective, which my doctor said isn't uncommon.
I've been on IV Zithromax now for maybe 2 1/2 months. I'm seeing progress still, but it's slow, and while I'm improving in some areas, the joint pain and brain fog seem to be stubborn. I opted to do the IV again, because I seem to be one of those that just responds better to it than to orals.
My question though, is it worth it to try Rocephin again at any point? Or is it just never going to be all that effective for me again? I understand a bit of how antibiotic resistance works, but I'm fuzzy on like... is it a one time deal? Do you lose that resistance if you haven't taken the antibiotic in say, a year? Two? Five?
I'm a little limited in my IV options due to allergies, but I'm lucky enough that my insurance seems to be open to covering them.

I did well on Rocephin for 3 months and then just went backwards. IV Clindamycin turned me around.

Make sure that you ask your doctor for flagyl or tinidazole (if you can tolerate them, so you aren't just creating cysts. Tinidazole is usually easier to tolerate than flagyl. Different docs have different protocols for this.

think of parasites if a macrolide works too slowly or ad in a tetracycline later pulsed flagyl. or try flagyl i.v. which is more effective (in my case) try artemisin. if you feel worse think of babs.
