My 37 year old son has Lyme's. Besides other concerns, he is having a lot of GI problems. He has chronic/acute pancreatitis, chronic gastritis, Barrett's Esophagus, hiatus hernia, diverticulosis, GERD. They have done a biopsy for H Pylori, cancer & Celiac. His liver tests don't look great, but still in process with all that. He's in the process of having cardio work up as his blood pressure, heart rate and all the lipids are way out of whack.

He is really pretty young to have a lot of this. Am I stretching it to say the Lyme's is doing all this?

Hi JBS, He is very young, sorry he's having so many problems.

It might help members to respond to your question if you:

* list what meds he's taking?
* how long he's been sick and treating?
* Does he have an LLMD?
* Etc.

Steve

He has been diagnosed with Lyme for almost two years. I think the pain in his hands was one if the reasons his dr tested him. I have CFIDS and had my dr test me after my son was diagnosed and found I had it as well.

He has not been able to work consistently since then and his health coverage has been spotty. Recently he got county health care. He has taken antibiotics and it helped, but then he tests positive after a couple months off.

He had a Lyme friendly dr, but is having trouble getting them covered by his insurance.

He takes high blood pressure meds, anti cholesterol, triglyceride medicine; tranquilizer , Nexium, pain meds, muscle relaxer, arthritis medicine. Not sure what else.

I have noticed a cognitive decline lately that is concerning. His BP is of an old man. It's all very concerning.

The main thing is get proper treatment. That is hard to find in Texas. And the one doctor I know of does not take insurance.

Will this Lyme-friendly doctor prescribe antibiotics long term?
