I found a reference that you can use this by mixing it. I have no idea what that means. Can someone make sense out of it for me?
I don't know if I should publish the link here, it's for Pencom Injection (Benzathine Penicillin) from India. PM me for direct link.

I ordered some Benzetacil from overseas.
Got it. Never used it. Never even opened the boxes.
I was just intrigued - to see if such a thing was actually possible to do.
Received as ordered - I guess cleared customs just fine.
What I have read about this kind - is that it has to be mixed - the powder and the liquid - and that it forms a suspension - and it can clog a needle.
And I think the needle has to be perhaps larger gauge than the Bicillin that comes pre-filled in the syringes. Not for me. Particularly since my insurance/special pharmacy covered Bicillin-LA at 100%
There should be some old posts on here somewhere to research this. ie the powdered kind.
Also in this regard - I think folks used to go to Mexico to get their Bicillin. Don't know if that is still possible. If so and if you are close to the border - might be worth looking into.

Unfortunately, I'm not near Mexico.
That mixing sounds like an issue.
Thanks!

I would think the mixing would be the easiest part of the whole thing.
Any Bicillin you buy from overseas will be the powder kind. Otherwise has to be shipped on cold packs/ice.
The powdered form does not need to be kept cold.
It appears the powder comes in one vial and the special liquid in another vial. $6 for 2.1 mu dose.

Don't know where the other thread went.
The Penicillin that was not Bicillin.
Brief explanation:
Penicillin G by itself will be in and out of your body in hours. Pill form etc.
There are "salts" that can be mixed with Pen-G for different reasons.
"Salts" like Potassium, Procaine, Benzathine etc.
Benzathine is just a neat thing added to Penicillin in injectable form - muscle only - that makes the Penicillin release into the body very slowly.
That is what is needed against Lyme.
The slow release/sustained levels.
Bicillin-LA is a depot drug. When the drug is injected the amount injected stays where you injected it - and is slowly released over days/weeks.
Bicillin LA is Penicillin G plus Benzathine.
That's it. Hope this helps.

Benzathine penicillin is widely manufactured around the world. Outside of the U.S. and perhaps the UK, it is sold as a powder which can be mixed with bacteriostatic water that is usually provided. In Latin America its common trade name is Benzetacil. In France it is called Extencilline. In Turkey it is called Penadur. It is generally inexpensive because it is a Korean War Era drug. However, its patent in the US was grated before patents had expiry dates. Therefore, despite being sixty years old, the manufacturer who own the patent can name its price that is about twenty times the world price. The powder can also be mixed with 1% lidocaine that causes the injection to be less painful. The liquid is added to the vial of powder, shaken, withdrawn, and injected. It can clog needles and calls for needle of either 20 or 18 gauge. IT IS INJECTED INTO THE MUSCLE ONLY. DELIBERATE OR INDAVERTENT INJECTION ITO A VEIN CAN BE FATAL.
