I just started taking Sida Acuta this week. I'm starting off slow and ramping up to make sure there are no negative reactions before going to full dose.
This is the first tincture that I have taken and want to make sure I'm taking it correctly. I've been just dropping it directly into my mouth. Is this correct or should I be diluting it in water?
Also, is it possible to herx from Sida Acuta?
Thank you, I appreciate the help!

I dilute the drops in half glass of water. Wait a few minutes and let alcohol in tincture evaporate in case you are alcohol intolerant.
I started at 5 drops in am and 5 drops in pm and ramped up in 5 drop increments to get to 1 tsp 2x/day.
This tincture did not help as expected after 6 months or so. Your mileage may vary.

Gmb is right
Dilute in water.
When you get to higher amounts the alcohol will burn your mucous membranes in your mouth.

Thank you both for the advice, I'll start diluting it tomorrow.

I am mixing the 1/4 tp and 1/4 tp of Cryptolepis together in pineapple juice.
To bitter to take any other way for me.

Pineapple is pretty high in sugars. Buhner recommends pomegranate (sp?) juice for more healthy choice.

I put it in pomegranate. I take about 1/2 ts each of Sida Acuta and Japanese Knotweed. The NP added Teasel and Blue Elder that I am supposed to take a full ts of, three times a day. If I don't let it sit, I can feel the alcohol.
I never took any of the tinctures often enough so I am going to do my best to take them as often as she suggests. I have never Herxed from them, no matter how much I take.

Is anyone actually getting relief from tinctures or just constant flare ups (or "herxes") ?
I haven't come across anyone who's given praise to these strong tincture herbs.
I do think they kill because when I take them my spleen gets inflamed and I get some herx symptoms... but I get zero relief from the bacteria and Bartonella seems to have a never ending supply of troops in it's bacterial army.

Canefan -- Are you also taking the red root? Hubby never had any spleen issues as long as he took red root tincture with babs treatment. He took 2 or 3 droppers of that tincture 2 times daily.

I agree with Bea.
Red Root did help my enlarged spleen return to normal.
I did 2 dropperfuls twice daily.
About 4 months worth.
Loved it-made me feel better. Seemed to help appearance of cellulite as well, which was a bonus...

Good call on red root. I take it in my LiverLife formula but I likely need more.
I actually like the tea (bright red!!) I'll get some more.
Does Red Root simply push the toxins out of the lymphatic system and into the bloodstream? Can't that cause a bit of a healing crisis on it's own?
