i thought i had figured out that the electrical shock/vibrations that affected me some nights around 2-3AM around my pelvic area were due to MSG in Chinese food

then i had Chinese food from a different restaurant a couple to times without it happening so started to doubt my hypothesis...

last night i had Chinese food at the same place and was awoken at 2 with extreme neuropaty around the pelvic area - I can't sleep when this happens...

i lay there wondering if it was the Chinese food or if it's a herx response because i'm on Bactrim and Flagyl and Dr. Z's allicin protocol...i take a multivitamin, curcumin, gluathione, fish oil, Vit D, and magnesium

feeling very tentative - the lower back and right hip are not happy - and haven't been for years but a lot worse lately (that's why i'm on the allicin, the abx I'm on are because the ENT saw signs of infection - but i'm not sure they're working - I'm beginning to suspect mold or fungus)

wondering if anyone else has had MSG related neuro symptoms? i read the side effects of MSG allergies on the web and I don't have the headache or the heart palps or the facial palsy -
it's bad enought with the back and hip pain and not sleeping well and aching all over....if i can rule out the neuropathy by not consuming chinese food well that's one step closer to happiness...(funny, i asked once at this resto not to put msg in the food, just in case, and instead of saying OK, they said all our food has it! (does it have to?)

Keebler has an entire set of links on this. I don't have time to search for it right now.

MSG is bad for all of us. Some are more sensitive than others. MSG usually contains gluten, so you may need to explore the possibility that you also need to avoid gluten.

Both are known to cause neuro symptoms.

PS .. start reading labels on foods .. and/or begin buying all NON-processed foods.

My kids were very sensitive to it when they were little, acted like they were drunk.

Yep! Also a lot of fermented soy in chinese food. Bad, bad, bad. I had a major neuro reaction the one and only time I ate chinese during this resurgence.
